become a redding garden club member

Join Us!

The RGC is delighted to welcome new members. We love to see our club grow!

Our membership year runs from July through June. Annual dues are $35. If you join between January and June, dues are half price.

Two Ways to Join

  1. Come to one meeting as a guest and pay the $5 guest fee. After the meeting, you'll get an orientation packet and you can join the RGC.
  2. If you can't attend a meeting, you can still join. Contact our membership chair, who willl set up a time to meet with you. You'll get a personal introduction to our club and activities. After that, you'll be able to join.

How We Contribute to the RGC

All RGC members are expected to contribute something to educate, enrich, or to be enjoyed by other members, such as a floral arrangement or exhibit each year. We also participate actively on at least one committee or fundraising activity, such as our Plant Sale, November Boutique and Garden Tour. Members also donate six or more plants for the Plant Sale held each May. (A donation in lieu of plants is also okay.) Periodically, every member is asked to contribute to the light luncheon held before each meeting.

Lots to Choose From!

You'll have no problem finding committees that match your interests -- or try something new!

  • Civic Beautification: Our largest committee, CB volunteers help plant and maintain nineteen garden sites and containers. (Containers are great for beginners! ) Members with time constraints can become floaters and help at sites as needed.
  • Plant Sale: Volunteers work on publicity, buying, sales, set-up, cashier, and break-down.
  • November Boutique: Help with publicity, set-up, sales, or breakdown. You can also participate in craft workshops throughout the year.
  • Youth Activities: We love helping kids learn to garden! Bring your ideas to this committee and get families involved in gardening.
  • Tussie Mussies: Meet throughout the year to create small flower arrangements for hospice patients.
  • Conservation: Help spread awareness about controlling invasives, attracting pollinators, and planting natives.

Become a Friend of the Redding Garden Club

If you’re interested in our activities but unable to participate actively, consider becoming a Friend of the Redding Garden Club. It’s a great way to stay in touch and support the RGC without having to fulfill membership requirements. It also makes a nice gift for friends, fellow gardeners, young mothers, and anyone new to town.

Friends of the Redding Garden Club receive our monthly newsletter, learn about speakers and programs in advance, and are eligible for field trips, all while participating in club activities as time and ability permit.

Become a Friend: The cost is $25 a year (July through June). There is also a $5 guest fee
if you attend a meeting. Please note: members have priority when field trips and workshops are limited.
